There are many options for the home buyer in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. The center of town contains many traditional neighborhoods that was housing for the large mills in town. These neighborhoods have the traditional design of a being in blocks with the schools intermixed. Other neighborhoods were constructed during World War II when there was an Army base in Windsor Locks and contain smaller homes and have very nice community feeling.

There aren't many large condominium complexes in town nor very large subdivisions of new construction. However, there are opportunities for every level of home buyer. Windsor Locks is located adjacent to the Connecticut River just north of Windsor and just south of Suffield. Bradley International Airport is located in town and I-91 runs through the south part of town allowing easy access to literally anywhere. Just across the river from Windsor Locks is Enfield, Connecticut where you can find a large retail center with many restaurants, Home Depot, Target, Sears and other smaller specialty stores.

Although mills used to dominate the town's industry, now most businesses are centered around the airport. However, United Technologies also has a major presence in Windsor Locks, CT. The town is also home to the New England Air Museum which houses, maintains, and restores many spectacular examples of aircraft. Other claims to fame for Windsor Locks includes winning the Little League World Series in 1965.
